Script Summary:

God called Abram to leave his home and promised to make him a great nation. Abram obeyed and traveled to Canaan, where God repeated His promises. Although Abram was old and childless, he trusted God’s word. God made a solemn covenant, passing as fire between animal pieces to show His commitment. In time, God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, meaning “father of many,” and Sarai’s name to Sarah. God commanded circumcision as a sign of their everlasting covenant. Though Abraham was 99, God promised him a son named Isaac, and Abraham obeyed by circumcising all males in his household. This set the stage for the special lineage through which God’s blessings would flow.
