This Alice in Wonderland Adapted Readers' Theater Script is based on Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic. Teaching Tips for Using the Script:
- For More Students: Main character can be read by multiple students.
- For Less Students: Minor characters can be read by just one student.
- This script should take about a 4~5 class periods depending on your classroom's level it may be suitable for other grade levels.
- An extra time should be planned for practice/rehearsal, discussion and worksheet activities.

Act 1: Down the Rabbit-Hole
Alice chases a talking White Rabbit down a rabbit-hole, falls slowly through a strange well, and finds herself in a hall of locked doors where she shrinks after drinking a mysterious bottle. -
Act 2: The Pool of Tears
Alice grows enormous, cries a pool of tears, shrinks again with a fan, and swims with a Mouse and other creatures, puzzled about her identity. -
Act 3: A Caucus-Race and a Long Tale
Alice and the wet creatures try to dry off with a dull history lesson and a chaotic Caucus-race, then she accidentally offends them by mentioning her cat, Dinah. -
Act 4: The Rabbit Sends in a Little Bill
The White Rabbit mistakes Alice for his maid, and after growing huge in his house, she escapes a chimney rescue and meets a giant Puppy in the woods. -
Act 5: Advice from a Caterpillar
Alice meets a grumpy Caterpillar who challenges her identity, gives cryptic advice about a mushroom, and she grows a long neck, startling a Pigeon. -
Act 6: Pig and Pepper
Alice visits a noisy house with a Duchess, a Cook, and a grinning Cheshire Cat, then watches a baby turn into a pig and learns everyone’s mad from the Cat. -
Act 7: A Mad Tea-Party
Alice joins a rude Hatter, March Hare, and sleepy Dormouse for tea, tackling riddles and nonsense until she storms off to find the garden. -
Act 8: The Queen’s Croquet-Ground
Alice sees gardeners painting roses, plays a wild croquet game with the Queen of Hearts, and debates the Cheshire Cat’s execution with the King. -
Act 9: The Mock Turtle’s Story
The Duchess shares morals, and a Gryphon takes Alice to hear the Mock Turtle’s sad tales of sea-school and odd lessons. -
Act 10: The Lobster Quadrille
The Mock Turtle and Gryphon perform a dance and sing quirky songs for Alice, then rush her to a trial when they hear a call. -
Act 11: Who Stole the Tarts?
Alice watches a silly trial for the Knave of Hearts, with nervous witnesses like the Hatter and Cook, until she’s called to speak. -
Act 12: Alice’s Evidence
Alice grows huge, disrupts the trial, challenges the Queen’s nonsense, and wakes up on a riverbank, sharing her dream with her sister.
