"Casey at the Bat" tells the story of a famous baseball game in the town of Mudville. The Mudville Nine, with a score of four to two, look to their hero, Casey, to win the game. When Casey steps into the batter’s box with confidence and determination, the town holds its breath. Although he swings mightily, he ultimately strikes out. The story mixes true feelings and events with exciting details that have grown into a legend.
