This U.S. History Differentiated Readers Theater script is based on the story of Patrick Henry and his passionate speech at the Virginia Convention in 1775. Facing increasing tensions with Britain, Henry urges the delegates to prepare for armed resistance to defend their rights and freedoms. His famous words, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" inspire the colonies to move toward independence, symbolizing their resolve to fight for liberty.

This script should take about ~20 minutes to read depending on your classroom's level. An extra ~25 minutes for prep, discussion, vocabulary or short answer comprehension questions should also be planned.
