This U.S. History Differentiated Readers Theater script is based on the story of The Midnight Ride and the Shot Heard Round the World. It tells the story of how Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott warned the American colonists that British troops were coming to take their weapons in April 1775. Their brave actions allowed the militias to prepare, leading to the Battles of Lexington and Concord—the first battles of the American Revolution. This event marks the official start of the armed conflict between the colonies and Britain.
