The Wolf and the Crane Readers Theater Script engages students in an interactive story instead of reading a third person narrative. This is a valuable classroom tool because it improves students' fluency, speed, accuracy, and expression. It helps develop listening and speaking skills as students actively practice expressive voice acting.
Script Summary:
A Wolf swallows a bone too fast. He begs the Crane to remove it from his throat, promising a reward. The Crane risks her head inside the Wolf’s mouth and safely pulls the bone out. But the Wolf is wicked: he gives no thanks or payment, only saying the Crane should be glad he did not bite her head off. The moral: If you help a bad or mean person, do not expect kindness in return.
