Arizona State History | Land, Water, and Arizona Regions RT Script and Mini Readers | Grades 3-5

Text Summary

Students join a map-and-timeline team that must correct the claim “Arizona is one big desert.” They use the three land regions, elevation, Grand Canyon chronology, four major river systems, the Colorado River watershed, and examples of human water adaptation to build a more accurate explanation.

The final scenes add a concise CAP chronology to show one way people moved distant water, then ask students to compare benefits, costs, and source limits. CAP is used only as a land-water example; detailed dam, groundwater, and present-day policy treatment remains outside this product’s scope.
